Preview: Providence takes on the the D-2 NE-10, Stonehill College Skyhawks in their second and final exhibition of the year.  For the Skyhawks, coming off of an impressive 21-8 record, Providence is their first game. This is the Skyhawks first game of the season.  Stonehill returns 10 players from last years team including three starters.  The Skyhawks are led by Senior Forward, A.J. Rudowitz.  At 6’6,” the NE-10 First Teamer, Rudowits, is an experienced player and a good scorer. Stonehill is predicted to finish second in the competitive NE-10 behind Merrimack, who the Friars beat 97-74 in their first exhibition game.

As for the Frairs, this will be their first game of the season at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.  They look to build off of last weeks performance against Merrimack and tune up before taking on Bryant in their first official game of the season next week.  Also, the Friars are looking to get Greedy Peterson on the floor tomorrow for the first time this season.  Greedy, who sat out last game due to a thigh injury should see limited minutes on Saturday.

imagesPC should be looking to clean up what wasn’t quite right last week in Saturday’s exhibition game.  Hopefully, Greedy will play so we can get a better look at what the team really looks like, and to see how his redshirt year has benefited him. (Speaking of… there was a good article in the ProJo about Bilal and Greedy’s redshirt season.)  This game PC should focus on not letting up as many points as they did to Merrimack and also try to find their jump shot, which was lost for most of the game last weekend.  Besides that, avoiding a Syracuse like letdown and continuing to gel as a team should be the top priorities.  The season is right around the corner so now is the time to polish up.

Also as you can see we approached this pregame differently from the last one.  We are trying to play around with it and modify it so we will be switching it around a little as we go.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
